Black Friday social media post ideas for small businesses (2026)
Small businesses can't outspend big retailers on social during Black Friday, but they can out-human them. Posts that show real people, real products and a clear offer tend to beat polished banners. Here are 30 Black Friday and Cyber Monday post ideas for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest, grouped by the week you'd post them, plus a simple plan for a sale running Fri, Nov 27 – Mon, Nov 30, 2026.
Which platform for what
| Platform | Best for | Post formats that work |
| Instagram | Launch announcements, behind the scenes | Reels, carousels, Stories with link stickers |
| Facebook | Local customers, older buyers, groups | Photo posts, events, short videos |
| TikTok | Discovery, showing the product in use | Short videos, packing videos, trends |
| Pinterest | Gift planning (starts early) | Gift guide pins, product pins |
Pick one or two platforms where your customers already follow you and do them well. Posting the same banner everywhere rarely moves sales.
Two to three weeks before (Nov 6–20): build anticipation
- "Something's coming" teaser with a close-up of a new product or packaging, and a date.
- Poll or quiz: "Which product should we put on sale?" (Instagram Story poll, Facebook post).
- Early access sign-up post pointing to your email or SMS list.
- Gift guide pins on Pinterest ("Gifts for coffee lovers under $40"). Pinterest users plan early, so start now.
- Behind-the-scenes production video: making, restocking, prepping orders.
- Founder story post: why you started, in 4–5 short lines with a photo of you.
- Customer favorite throwback: your best-seller with a real review.
Black Friday week (Nov 23–27): launch
- Countdown Story sticker set to the sale start time.
- Early access Story for subscribers ("check your inbox").
- Thanksgiving thank-you post (Nov 26), with no selling. It earns goodwill for tomorrow.
- Launch Reel or TikTok: 10–15 seconds, product on screen, offer and deadline as on-screen text.
- Launch carousel: slide 1 the offer, slides 2–5 the products, last slide "Link in bio, ends Mon 11:59pm ET".
- "How to shop the sale" Story walking through the site in 3 taps.
- Facebook post with the full offer for followers who don't use Instagram.
- Live video showing the products and answering questions in real time.
The weekend (Nov 28–29): stay human
- Small Business Saturday post introducing the team or the person packing orders.
- Packing orders time-lapse, one of the most reliable small-business formats on TikTok and Reels.
- Shout-out to other small shops you love (they often share it back).
- Best-sellers carousel: "What everyone's ordering this weekend".
- User-generated content: repost real customer photos, with permission.
- Gift guide Reel: "3 gifts under $[PRICE]" with quick cuts.
- Restock announcement, only if you actually restocked.
- FAQ post: shipping cutoff dates, returns, gift wrap.
Cyber Monday and after (Nov 30–Dec 2): close and thank
- Cyber Monday launch post with the same offer (or one small extra) and the end time.
- "Final hours" Stories every few hours on Monday, with a link sticker.
- Last-call Reel 3–4 hours before the end: product, offer, time zone.
- Giving Tuesday post (Dec 1) if you donate, with the exact amount and the cause.
- Thank-you post: a number you're proud of ("[NUMBER] orders packed by 3 people") and a real thank-you.
- Shipping update Story so buyers know when to expect their order.
- Review request post pointing to where customers can leave honest reviews.
Five rules for BFCM posts
- Offer and deadline in the first line or the first 2 seconds of video. People scroll fast in November.
- Show the product being used, not just a sale graphic.
- Keep the link in bio pointed at the sale page all week, and use link stickers in Stories.
- Only real reviews, real prices and real stock counts. The FTC's rules against fake reviews and misleading claims apply to social posts too.
- Disclose paid partnerships clearly if creators post for you (#ad or the platform's paid-partnership label).
How to film a 15-second launch video (no editing skills)
- Second 0–2: the product in hand, with on-screen text: "Black Friday: [OFFER]".
- Second 2–10: three quick shots: the product in use, the packaging, a close-up detail.
- Second 10–15: on-screen text "Ends Mon, Nov 30, 11:59pm ET · link in bio".
Film vertically in daylight, use your phone's built-in editor or the app's own editor, and add a trending sound if it fits your brand. Shoot two or three versions on the same day so you have fresh videos for Friday, Saturday and Monday without filming in the middle of the rush.
Reuse one idea across every channel
You don't need 30 separate pieces of content. Take one strong idea, like the packing time-lapse, and post it as a Reel, a TikTok, a Facebook video and a Story; then quote its best line in your email. Batch-create the week's posts on a quiet afternoon in mid-November and schedule them with Meta Business Suite or your favorite scheduler, so on Black Friday itself you only have to post Stories and answer comments and DMs. Answering messages quickly during the sale often matters more than posting one more time.
